Seventeen raids across Italy for a neo-Nazi Telegram chat. Investigation underway into connections with the stabbing of the teacher in Rome.
The Carabinieri ROS and DIGOS have carried out seventeen searches across Italy, involving minors and adults affiliated with supremacist and neo-Nazi groups active on Telegram. Among those searched are a 16-year-old from Fonte Nuova (Rome) and a 24-year-old from Ciampino. Investigators are verifying any possible contacts with the 13-year-old who, on September 18, stabbed teacher Isabella Marsilio at the "Giovanni Verga" middle school in Centocelle, Rome.
The operation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Offices of Rome and Venice, led to the seizure of improvised weapons and documents with neo-Nazi and supremacist content. The two Romans are accused of the crimes of incitement to commit crimes, propaganda for racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination, and training for terrorist activities. The investigation accelerated following the serious incident in Centocelle.
The phenomenon stems from the online recruitment of very young individuals by supremacist, accelerationist, and neo-Nazi groups. These formations, which do not act for traditional political reasons but for "pure terrorism" according to investigators, preach the overthrow of current society (accelerationist theory) and seek to collapse the democratic order. The declared goal is a "mass reset," with incitement to hatred against Jews, Black people, foreigners, and gay people.
The Telegram group "Italian Fascist Front" (Ffi), active from October 10, 2025, to April 26, 2026, was one of the main vectors. In the chats, self-training manuals, techniques for making explosive devices, videos, photos, and Nazi propaganda documents, including Holocaust denial, were shared. The online recruitment format and subsequent incitement to act created an environment that, according to investigations, led to the incitement of the 13-year-old from Centocelle. The situation prompted authorities to launch a coordinated nationwide operation to prevent violent attacks.
