Two concerts at the Teatro Verdi with the international choral project directed by Simon Halsey. Choristers from all over the world on stage and in the audience.
An international choir of approximately 800 singers will perform in Florence for two concerts dedicated to Giacomo Puccini. The event, titled "PUCCINI IN FLORENCE," is part of the Choralspace 2026 tour and will take place on Saturday, October 3rd at 9:00 PM and Sunday, October 4th at 5:00 PM at the Teatro Verdi.
The ensemble, conducted by Maestro Simon Halsey and accompanied by the Orchestra della Toscana, will be arranged in a 360° configuration, occupying both the stage and the orchestra seating. This layout, already successfully tested, aims to create a unique acoustic and visual experience for the audience.
Choralspace is a foundation that since 2021 has been organizing large international choral projects, initially at the Berlin Philharmonie. Its model brings together singers from all over the world for intensive musical experiences. The first major international project abroad took place in November 2025 at the Musikverein in Vienna, achieving notable success with a sold-out hall.
"PUCCINI IN FLORENCE" therefore represents the second international project organized by the foundation outside of Germany and the first to be held in Italy, specifically in the Tuscan city. The event marks a further geographical expansion of the initiative, bringing the format of the massive and immersive choir into a new cultural context and a historic theater like the Verdi in Florence.
