Directed by Andrew Stanton for Pixar, Toy Story 5 arrives in 2026 and finds a new reason to exist by intelligently addressing the relationship between childhood and technology, shifting the focus to Jessie as the emotional heart of the story. The film does not demonize screens, represented by the new character Lilypad, but explores with balance how play and imagination can coexist with the digital, in a mature tale that speaks both to children and adults who grew up with the saga. Technically impeccable and with a soundtrack that also features a contribution from Taylor Swift, this chapter, despite some less-developed subplots, confirms itself as one of the most relevant animated releases of the year, capable of renewing the franchise without betraying its spirit.
