During the Opening Night Live of gamescom 2026, CD PROJEKT RED officially unveiled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. The highly anticipated update of the RPG masterpiece will arrive next September 29th on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and, for the first time, on Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net thanks to a new partnership with Blizzard Entertainment.
The announcement was accompanied by the first teaser for 'Songs of the Past', a new paid expansion planned for 2027. The presentation thus laid the groundwork for the near future of Geralt of Rivia's universe, offering fans new content to hold onto while awaiting the fourth installment.
The Remastered version represents a free update for all current owners of the game. In addition to debuting on new platforms, the package also includes the two previously released DLCs, 'Hearts of Stone' and 'Blood and Wine', which will become free for all players. CD PROJEKT RED will be present at September's BlizzCon to share further details about the collaboration with Blizzard.
The developers are also active at gamescom with dedicated presentations for both the remaster and the new expansion, also streamed online via REDstream. An epic return for the Witcher, who is preparing to conquer a new generation of players with enhanced graphics and a new story on the horizon.
