Fans of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice have one more reason to celebrate. Starting today, September 4, 2026, the limited theatrical release of 'Sekiro: No Defeat' begins in Japan. This anime series adapts the story of the FromSoftware title.
Studio Qzil.la is handling the production, with Kenichi Kutsuna directing. A clip published on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel already shows a faithful reconstruction of the game's prologue: the first clash between the protagonist Wolf and Genichiro Ashina on the Silvergrass Field.
The scene, which ends with Wolf losing his left arm, promises to respect the atmosphere and events of the original. The original game's voice actors return to portray the characters, including Daisuke Namikawa (Wolf) and Kenjiro Tsuda (Genichiro).
After the limited release in Japanese theaters, the anime will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll, although the digital date has not yet been announced. A new way to relive the epic adventure of the one-armed wolf.
