Sekiro Anime: Director Asks Fans Not to Watch the Trailer

Sekiro Anime: Director Asks Fans Not to Watch the Trailer
《只狼》导演恳请观众避开新发布的预告片,称其中包含了一段应在影院观看的电影场景。

Ahead of the Japanese theatrical release of the anime *Sekiro: No Defeat*, director Kenichi Kutsuna made an unusual request to fans. Through his personal X account, he asked those planning to see the film in theaters to avoid the trailer "The Battle in the Silvergrass Fields," which was published online on September 3rd.

Kutsuna explained that the trailer contains a cinematic reveal that was not meant to be shown in advance. While it is not technically a plot spoiler, it is a moment of strong visual impact that, according to the director, should be experienced for the first time in the theater.

The director attributed the premature release of the trailer to negligence by the production company ARCH, specifying that the other company involved, Kadokawa, is not responsible. Despite Kutsuna's apologies, the trailer remained available online at the time of reporting.

The anime *Sekiro: No Defeat*, produced by Qzil.la, ARCH, and Kadokawa, began its run in Japanese theaters on September 4th for a limited three-week release. A global version is planned for Crunchyroll, but the date has not yet been announced.
