The cross-media project Dark Machine, which combines anime and e-sports, has been enriched with new details. The original anime "Dark Machine The Animation" will debut on October 13 at 25:45 on Fuji TV, before landing on Kansai TV and BS Fuji.
The cast expands with the addition of Nao Tōyama, Nonoka Ōbuchi, and Rei Nakashima. The three will voice Arc, Denebola, and Spica respectively, members of the Stellatus team, the rival squad to protagonist Kairi's Carbuncle. Stellatus also operates as an idol unit, and their songs will be featured in the series.
The anime will have a unique setting, with Dark Machine presented as a popular gaming metaverse, and will take place in a "not-too-distant future." Distribution is planned globally. The project boasts notable names such as creative producer Gorō Taniguchi (Code Geass) and chief mechanical designer Hidetaka Tenjin (Macross).
The "asynchronous big team arena shooter" game Dark Machine, announced in 2023, is a 7vs7 third-person mech title currently in Early Access. The project has raised over $8.7 million from more than 6,000 investors.
