Nearly fifteen years after the conclusion of Toshiaki Iwashiro's manga, PSYREN is finally set to become a television anime. The new full trailer confirms an October 5th premiere, showcasing the ruined world, supernatural battles, and the mysterious red phone card that drags protagonist Ageha Yoshina into one of Shonen Jump's strangest survival games.
The series, produced by Satelight, promises to be a full adaptation of the original manga. The PSI powers displayed range from enhanced perception and telekinesis to destructive attacks, while the plot follows Ageha and the other participants trapped in a devastated future.
The anime debuts on October 5th at 23:00 JST on Tokyo MX, with additional broadcasts and streaming availability to follow. Crunchyroll will handle international distribution outside of Japan. The main cast includes Rikuya Yasuda as Ageha Yoshina and Mayuko Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya.
