Blizzard announces StarCraft Dominion, an open-world shooter.
Blizzard has unveiled a new chapter of StarCraft, an open-world action shooter arriving in 2030. The 'Dominion' trailer offers a more intimate and personal perspective of the saga's universe.

Blizzard has finally brought the StarCraft saga back to life during BlizzCon 2026, announcing a new chapter for the celebrated series. The new game, presented through the cinematic trailer 'Dominion,' marks a decisive change of direction for the series.

It will not, in fact, be a traditional RTS, but an open-world shooter. The trailer follows a Terran Dominion marine through training, preparation, and brutal clashes against the Zerg, offering a much more personal and close-up perspective compared to the classic strategy games.

The game is currently referred to simply as 'StarCraft' and is targeting a release date in 2030. No gameplay was shown during the announcement, so the trailer focuses primarily on the atmosphere and the new perspective Blizzard wants to give to the series' return.
