Apple has finally announced the official dates for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. Pre-orders will open on Friday, October 16th at 5:00 AM (Pacific Time), while the device will be available in stores starting Friday, October 23rd.
The initial launch will involve over 70 countries and regions, including the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Another 28 countries will be added on October 30th.
The price, as is often the case with Apple's flagship products, is decidedly high. The base 256GB configuration will start at $1,999 in the USA, while the top 2TB version will reach a record price of $3,199. The 512GB option at $2,199 and the 1TB option at $2,599 will also be available.
The iPhone Duo will be the first Apple device to run iOS 27.1, a specific version of the operating system. Despite the announcement, many technical details, such as battery life in terms of capacity, RAM, or the hinge durability rating, have not yet been revealed by the company.
