The world of Cyberpunk 2077 returns to animation with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The series, a stand-alone sequel to the acclaimed first season, finally has an official release date: it will be available on Netflix starting October 20, 2026.
The new season, a product of the collaboration between Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red, presents a completely new story with four main characters. Their tales will intertwine on the streets of Night City, in a narrative that explores themes such as family, obsession, and legacy.
Among the protagonists are Weak, a former legend of the cyberpunk world now forced to live without cybernetic implants, and D, a lethal nomad seeking revenge. The series promises an even more raw and brutal approach to the franchise's dark future.
The return is led by director Kai Ikarashi and the creators of the original story, including Hugo Award-winning author Bartosz Sztybor. Fans will be able to dive back into this technological dystopia in just over two months.
