Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to the critically acclaimed anime, has premiered on Netflix. All ten episodes of the series, created by CD PROJEKT RED in collaboration with Japanese animation studio TRIGGER, are now available for streaming.
The new season features a standalone story set in the Night City of Cyberpunk 2077, with a completely new cast of characters. Among them are a veteran edgerunner, a young cinephile, a chrome-obsessed thug, and a netrunner from the Snake Nation, whose stories intertwine in a raw and emotional narrative about vengeance and redemption.
Coinciding with the series launch, CD PROJEKT RED has announced the Edgerunners 2 Update (Update 2.5) for Cyberpunk 2077. This free update, arriving on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, will bring anime-inspired content into the game, along with a series of new items and features.
More details about the update will be revealed on October 21 during a special episode of REDstreams, followed by the publication of the official patch notes. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow shortly after.
