It's a week of long-awaited releases finally coming to fruition in the publishing world. Chad Harbach, author of the bestseller 'The Art of Fielding,' returns after fifteen years with a follow-up to that beloved novel. His new work, 'The Brightness,' is described by Tom Perrotta as "a monumental campus novel, full of intelligent and mercurial characters who feel as real as your own roommates."
Alongside Harbach, Jane Schoenbrun also makes her fiction debut. The award-winning director of the recent film 'Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,' her first novel, 'Public Access Afterworld,' has already garnered praise for its ability to distort reality both on the page and in our perception of the world around us.
Rounding out the trio of notable releases is the first authorized biography of Kim Kardashian, written by acclaimed celebrity journalist Jonathan Van Meter. 'Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future' is presented as a smart and incisive book, the result of the meeting between a great journalist and his perfect subject.
The week thus confirms itself as particularly rich, offering readers a variety of genres and voices, from literary fiction to biography, to the debut of an artist already established in another field.
