The anime adaptation of the video game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will debut on Crunchyroll in January 2027 as an 8-episode TV series, featuring original content.
Following its success in Japanese theaters, Sekiro: No Defeat is set to win over streaming audiences. The anime, based on FromSoftware's acclaimed action game, will be distributed worldwide by Crunchyroll starting January 2027.
The series will consist of eight episodes that rework the film into a television format, with the addition of new content. This extended version promises to further deepen the adaptation of the award-winning video game.
The original film has already proven its appeal, ranking ninth at the Japanese box office during its opening weekend and earning nearly 100 million yen. Additional screenings scheduled for October confirm the positive reception from audiences.
