Gears of War: E-Day, the launch trailer showcases gameplay and multiplayer mode

The launch trailer for Gears of War: E-Day was released by Xbox on October 1, 2026, coinciding with the start of early access. The approximately 85-second video, set to Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls," focuses on campaign gameplay and multiplayer modes, distinguishing itself from the more narrative-driven trailer shown in August.

The trailer introduces the Bravo Squad, the quartet of soldiers followed in the campaign: veterans Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago, joined by Mags Carter and Lucas Reyes. Gameplay sequences featuring all four squad members are shown, and co-op options are confirmed: single-player, 2-player split-screen co-op, or 4-player online co-op.

Beyond the campaign, the trailer dedicates time to multiplayer, confirming two modes at launch: Horde Siege, a 4-player PvE mode with specific classes, and a 4v4 Versus PvP mode. The trailer also showcases new Locust creatures never seen in the original trilogy, highlighting the story's prequel nature.

Gears of War: E-Day, developed by The Coalition, has been available in early access since October 1, with the full launch scheduled for October 6, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, PC Windows, Steam, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and GeForce NOW.
