On the occasion of Naruto Uzumaki's birthday, the "NARUTO: What's Next?" panel at New York Comic Con 2026 delivered an epoch-making surprise to fans. Among the approximately 3,000 spectators in attendance, a teaser video was shown, revealing storyboards for a new Naruto manga drawn by its original creator, Masashi Kishimoto.
The teaser displayed the six stone faces of the Hokage watching over the Hidden Leaf Village, with the seventh under construction, before transitioning to a scene featuring the four former members of Team 7. The final image depicted Naruto and Sasuke clashing, fueling speculation about the plot.
Further details on this highly anticipated return of Kishimoto to the world of Naruto will be announced at Jump Festa 2027, during the dedicated Naruto stage scheduled for December 19-20, 2026, at the Makuhari Messe.
