Blood Sacrifice

The new Netflix series *Blood Sacrifice* (original title *Blodsoffer*), available from August 20, 2026, is a five-episode Nordic thriller created by George Kay, the mind behind *Lupin* and *Hijack*. Set in Stockholm, the series follows detective Thomas Berg, played by Jakob Oftebro, as he investigates a serial killer targeting police officers, forcing him to collaborate with his father Alfred, a disgraced, alcoholic former cop masterfully portrayed by Peter Andersson. While the killer hunt is solid and director Kristoffer Nyholm effectively harnesses the Nordic noir atmosphere, the series is often criticized for an unmemorable protagonist and overly anonymous supporting characters, though it shines in its portrayal of the complex father-son relationship.
