The Sinking City 2

The Sinking City 2 marks a decisive shift for the Ukrainian studio Frogwares, abandoning the investigative roots of the original to embrace survival horror. Set in 1929 in the city of Arkham, submerged by an unnatural flood, the game follows adventurer Calvin Rafferty on a desperate mission to save his partner Faye, who has fallen into a deep sleep after a failed occult ritual. The gameplay now focuses on combat against parasitized creatures and a Lovecraftian bestiary, exploration in confined areas, and resource management typical of the genre, although the stealth system and some shooting aspects present some issues.

Despite the inevitable development challenges during wartime, the title stands out for its deeply evocative atmosphere, with a deserted and flooded Arkham rendered with excellent artistic direction, offering a compact and immersive horror adventure.
